    February Clanger of the Month

        04 March, 2009

Each month a lucky Sunshine Coast player/official will take out the "Clanger of the Month" award for some deed they have done, that they would generally like to keep to themselves. An overall winner will be announced at the annual presentation night and we must say that Richie Coward looks like being an early front runner in this prestigious award.

Richie, being the well-natured clubman that he is, volunteered to assist the running of the raffle after training. Young Wilkes sold the tickets and left Richie to call out the numbers and eventually the winner. After a couple of warm-up "No Deals" and a sprinkling of "No Goods" Richie really began to hit his straps and ignored the comments from the growing audience. He announced that the winner of the raffle was Anthony, who was excited as it was his first time at training for about 18months. He quickly took the money and bought a beer.

Young Wilkes was again disappointed at losing so went and grabbed the raffle sheet to better plan next weeks selection. He noticed something odd with the raffle sheet (see below).

Richie had announced the wrong winner. Number 9 - Dickers actually won the money, not Anthony with number 19, and some of had already been spent. Well done Richie and congratulations on your nomination for Clanger of the Month!

    Pre-season Carnival Canned

    23 March, 2009

It appears that Masters & Supers sides in the competition still fear the Sunshine Coast, as the withdrawal of another two teams forces the cancellation of the planned pre-season carnival on the 29th March at Fishermans Road. More news to come.
