Footy Tipping Heats Up
1 September, 2009We are fastly approaching the pointy end of the season and this is no different with the tipping. Richie Coward and Rainlover are neck and neck on 105 a piece, leading a group of six that just won't lay down. Richie beware the Collywobbles and Vaggy don't celebrate too early.

Round 12 Matches
6 September, 2009

The last game of the season was always going to be a ripper! A concern with numbers and confusion around the start time saw a number of players take the field to fill in. Comebacks were made by Milesy and Eddie that excited many of the spectators.
Eddie produced the full bag of tricks (banana's, screws, over the shoulder, barrels) from full forward, slotting goals from every angle imaginable. Though his masters career is on hold until he brushes up on his drop kicks! Merlot was again in scintillating form as was Wayno launching attacks from the half back line.
A shocking incident in the latter half of the game saw Milesy carried from the field with knee damage. The damage was severe enough that enough metal was inserted into his leg to set off airport metal detectors and barcode scanners whenever he goes near them.
Well done to all and we hope to see you back again next season!
Goal kickers not supplied. The kiddies castle arrived and all were happy. Though a number of parents were concerned when they saw Condo with a roll of Gaff tape acting rather suspiciously near the jumping castle. Deflating behaviour!
Delivery into the forward fifty was superb on a day where goals were decidedly hard to come by. PJ and Merlot were fantastic and seen often assisting the backline in keeping the oppositions score to a minimum (good form to take into the carnival).
It was a relatively quiet day down back for Richie C as recent taunts of coach Botters saw him line-up at full back for the game. Big Jas was the impact player and brought on for short stints up front. Dickers came off in the third suffering from probably one too many big crunches, but hopes to be fighting fit for the carnival.
A solid effort from all to ensure the Suncoast Supers complete another undefeated season!
Goals: Duey, Shannon 2; singles to Barra, PJ and Camo.

Marty's Final Fling
29 September, 2009
It was a service that would have even brought a tear to Marty's eye. Near on a thousand people attended the Maroochy Baptist Centre to send off Marty in style. The stories just seemed to keep coming as speaker after speaker spoke of the affect that this loveable character had on so many. The guard of honour spanned the length of the driveway and was in places six people deep as many belted out a final rendition of "Here we are again".
The celebration at the Maroochydore Footy Club was also a big affair that stretched on from the funerals end until 8:30pm, to then move onto the Blue Bar at Alex. Many a tale was told over a few beers and wines and plans hatched for next season. Some even suggested sainthood!

A big thank you to Greg and Pam Miles, Uppo and all of Marty's mates who assisted with the staging of this event. Your support was greatly appreciated and helped make this a bash that even Marty would have been disappointed to have missed!
RIP Marty Paul Rayner
