The Master Chef Returns
2 April, 2010The Suncoast Master Chef is well underway and contestants are keeping all the cards close to their chest, not revealing the dishes until the last minute. Rumour and speculation is rife around the club that Rabbs is backing up in 2010 to rework his spectacular Tuna Surprise (aka Tuna-less Mornay) and expect a few new surprise chefs to enter the fray this year.

7 April, 2010A big turnup for the back to the seventies session with Footy who had great delight in pulling out the "diamond", which was one of Nippers favourites! Mad Dog missed the four-peat in the raffle, with Rod "Rockets" Kennedy popping in to claim the $25.

A Long Bus Trip Home
18 April, 2010Ahhh the crystal ball! We should’ve known there were going to be problems from the very start. A number of late withdrawals from the travelling side and confusion over leaving times (well Tails confusion over the departure time), means the bus did not get underway until 8-ish. This puts us in Hervey bay 10minutes before the game.
A flat start for both sides saw the game at a level pegging for most of the first half. Some inaccurate work in front of goals, poor checking of opponents and ill-directed long range shots ensured that the Rayners were unable to capitalise on the scoreboard.
It was a hard fought game with Hervey Bay prepared to ride the bumps and run the ball, creating their own space to set up forward-line attacks. Micky Dawe had a fantastic game and was clearly BOG (Best ON Ground) and BOG (Best OFF Ground – see the gallery for evidence here), shortly followed by Chrisso, Tails and Mick O’Brien in his first game for the Rayners.
The third quarter saw the Fruitbats put on a flurry of goals to break away from the Rayners and set up a 22-point lead heading into the final term. A great opening play saw the Rayners put on the first two goals to get a sniff as the Fruitbats rallied and stamped out any chance with solid defensive work. A small spot-fire erupted late in the last quarter which saw Ronnie sent off the field for fighting.
Goals: 2 Dasher, Wilkes; singles to Monka, Rockets, Mick–O.

21 April, 2010Guess who's back? Micky Matson made a return to gee-up the boys at training tonight. It's great to see him back and looking in great shape! Milesy has been handing out Membership cards for the Roos and reminds everyone of the games this weekend for the Maroochy Roos starting from 10:30am.
Roos Triumph in New Strip
24 April, 2010It was a resounding victory accross all three grades on the weekend for the Maroochy Roos in their new/old look "Green & Gold" strip (check out photos in gallery). This is something that the Rayners would dearly love to emulate this weekend as we face Morningside in the Supers & Masters.
Queen's B'day Camping
26 April, 2010Richie C (aka the Dugong; aka Shrek) is keen to test the waters for interest in a camping weekend over the Queen's Birthday long weekend. Primary investigations have revealed Kennilworth Homestead as a potential site. If camping is your thing contact Richie to register your interest 0422 602 384.

Training Track Talk
28 April, 2010Good numbers made it along to training last night. Unfortunately Rabbs made a late withdrawal in the Master Chef competition, leaving the boys with steamed dimmies for dinner. This coming off a disappointing Master Chef entry in 2009, the boys are so concerned with Rabbs ability to perform under such pressure. Guess who won the raffle...Maddog!!!
